You know, as a musician and a performer, it’s just this constant cycle of learning things. You think you already know a lot but you’re always learning more stuff. Here’s what I’ve learned in the past few weeks of shows (2 of which were release shows for the album):
#1) Don’t let your back-up singers look hotter than you.
#2) Have available more than a $10 bill to make change for CD sales.
#3) Have about 4 more rehearsals than you think you should.
#4) If possible, provide alcohol for free. You will sell CD’s like Girl Scout Cookies in a crowd of college students.
#5) Own the stage like you’re belting Jewel songs in your bedroom.
